This hand-carved wooden figurine of the European bison, or Zubr, is a tribute to one of the most powerful and iconic animals in Eastern European nature and folklore. The Zubr, one of the largest land mammals in Europe, was once nearly extinct—but thanks to conservation efforts, it now thrives again in protected areas like the Białowieża Forest. Revered for its power, resilience, and majestic presence, the bison also holds deep significance in heraldry, appearing on the coats of arms of regions such as Brest and Grodno, as well as national parks and historical municipalities across Belarus, Russia, and Lithuania.

This figurine is made from solid hardwood and carefully shaped by hand based on archival designs originally created by Brest Souvenir Factory in the late 1970s. The surface is treated with wood stain and natural wax to bring out the depth of the grain and ensure durability. It’s both a collector’s piece and a symbol of natural dignity.

Whether placed on a shelf, in an office, or given as a meaningful gift, the Zubr brings a sense of grounded power and connection to heritage. Handcrafted by Brest Souvenir Factory, preserving traditional carving skills since 1953. Each figure is unique, with slight variations that highlight its handmade nature.
