The game board is decorated with a colorful map-style layout of the Golden Ring – a historic travel route through Russia’s most beautiful and ancient cities including Moscow, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Vladimir, Suzdal, and others.

The set includes 32 hand-painted wooden nesting dolls (matryoshkas), each sealed with a clear varnish and finished with a linen canvas base. The king measures approximately 3.35 inches, the queen 2.95 inches, and pawns are 1.97 inches tall. The chess board also serves as a storage box for the figurines, secured with a metal clasp for portability and safekeeping.
