The Motol Small Box is part of the second chapter in the Polesskaya Skrynka collection — a tribute to the traditions of Belarusian Polesia. This design was inspired by a real antique chest found in the local history museum of Motol, a village known not only for its crafts but for its soul.

Motol is the industrious heart of Western Polesia. Generations of people here sewed, wove, smoked fish and meat, traded, and passed down their skills like heirlooms. Even today, this village is alive with tradition — famous for its handmade sausages and a museum that lovingly preserves the past. There, in its quiet halls, we found a wooden chest. It spoke to us not just through form, but through its spirit. That chest inspired the floral patterns and colors of this hand-painted box.

The ornament follows the Ogovo painting tradition — a regional folk style with vivid florals, deep green backgrounds, and protective wave borders. These motifs weren’t merely decorative; they were stories, blessings, and quiet spells to protect the home.

This small jewelry box is made of natural wood, with a magnetic clasp and a soft linen-like lining inside. Ideal for rings, keepsakes, or tokens of memory, it’s both functional and full of meaning.
