This is the fourth Matryoshka set in our "Traditional Women's Costumes of Belarus" collection. This time, the dolls are dressed in the folk attire of Central Belarus. The set includes six Matryoshka dolls, crafted from natural wood and hand-painted in an authentic Belarusian style.

The Maladzyechna attire is one of the regional variations of the Belarusian national costume, originating from the north of Minsk and Hrodna regions. This costume ensemble consists of four key elements: a linen shirt (kashulya), a skirt (spadnitsa for summer or the woolen andarak), a jacket (zhaketka), an apron (perednik), and a headpiece (kaptur).

The andarak skirt was made from vividly colored homespun wool with horizontal stripes. Festive skirts were crafted from finer, more expensive wool and were generally longer than everyday skirts. The jacket was made of dark wool, without decorative elements, and tied like a corset. The linen shirt featured richly embroidered cuffs and collar, while the light apron was decorated with zigzag plant motifs in traditional embroidery techniques. The kaptur headdress was worn beneath a headscarf (khustka).

For collectors and folk art enthusiasts, the artisans of Brest Souvenir Factory have created exclusive, one-of-a-kind Matryoshka sets. Be sure to explore the other pieces in the "Traditional Women's Costumes of Belarus" collection to complete your set.
